With our very own Sam Gamon having tied the knot over the Australia Day long weekend and Valentine’s Day swiftly approaching, romance is certainly in the air all ‘round Melbourne. What better way for singletons to overcome the stigma of dating then, than with the nifty Five in Five project – put simply, it’s five dates in five weeks for charity. A great way to meet a potential new beau who shares your interests in the community and a fun way to raise funds for a cause you care about. Love is in the air, indeed!
As the Five in Five website says – ‘Be Bold! Be Strong!’ Go outside your comfort zone and meet some new people from your community to participate in the Five in Five project, running from the 2nd of February ‘till the 8th of March. If you’ve been holding a flame for someone you’re too nervous to ask out – now you’ve a BONA FIDE and socially responsible excuse to do so! Now, before you start with nightmare images of RSVP-style failed online dating experiences – know that Five in Five is ol’ skool dating at its best. That’s right, it’s about meeting people through friends, family, colleagues. Put the word out and see what your network of well-meaning pals will come up with. The rules are pretty simple.
- Make sure you’re single (of course)!
- Register your pledge to Five in Five
- Find a date (and then four more)!
Register by clicking here and pledging to go on five dates in five weeks – then spread the word and tell all your mates about your daring dating intentions. Once you sign up, you’ll be given your own fundraising page, which your peers can then contribute to – cheering you on as you seek the ‘special one’ – or at the very least, a good companion for a casual meal and a gig. Funds raised by Five in Five go to charities that support our local community, including the St Kilda Gatehouse-Drop In Centre which assists people exit the sex-work industry. They offer material help (food, shelter) in addition to emergency crisis care and counselling – an average of 18 women a day are assisted by this charity.
Best of all, the proof is in the pudding – last year’s Five in Five raised 46,000 for charity and resulted in a number of relationships and evening a wedding. Love to love you, baby!
Chisholm & Gamon were honoured to be voted as nominees in this year’s prestigious REIV Awards for Excellence. The REIV Awards for Excellence are Victoria’s most lauded industry awards which are hotly contested and voted upon from within the real estate fraternity.
In years past, C&G have been fortunate to receive nominations and awards in the annual REIV Awards for Excellence. This year will be the eleventh year running we have been nominated! We’ve enjoyed particular success in the category of copywriting – and this is the category we’ve been nominated for in 2012. Chisholm and Gamon Director and Auctioneer Sam Gamon considered and submitted 5/173 Glenhuntly Road, Elwood for nomination. This was a unique deco penthouse with two supersized entertainer’s balconies and winsome period features throughout. Chisholm & Gamon are well-known for their innovative and attention-grabbing copywriting, so we were pleased to be in contention for the REIV Awards for Excellence Copywriting category.
The REIV Awards are real estate’s glittering night of nights, held at the Crown Palladium on Thursday 20th of October. The team enjoyed celebrating our nomination amongst our respected industry peers - below, a snap of our glamourous group! We thank both our clients and the REIV for our nomination in 2012′s awards.
The 50th Anniversary Dinner was a great success with over 400 guests at the event held at the Crown Palladium room. 50 years of history were celebrated in style.
C & G had a fun evening and were greatly impressed by how well run the event was. Almost $7,000 was raised in the loud auction conducted by Sam Gamon and Nick Jones. Approximately $14,000 was raised in the silent auction.
Congratulations to the Club on this fantastic milestone and we look forward to many more eventful club years ahead!
A few weeks ago, we blogged about our support of the Sacred Heart Mission’s 2011 Dine With The Champions dinner. It was held on the 13th of October at Albert Park’s Powerhouse, and was a successful fundraising venture and a great night out. Today’s C&G blog gives you the lowdown on this annual night of sports-centric charity fundraising.
L-R: Celebrity sports industry members who joined in the ‘Dine With The Champions’ fundraiser included Angela Pippos, Peter Moody and Luke Nolen.
Dine With The Champions is a very special night which helps to raise funds for the Sacred Heart Mission’s sports and recreation programme. Being part of a team or group can be a huge esteem boost to people who are feeling excluded, perhaps on the fringes of society or away from their own families. Chisholm & Gamon’s Managing Director Torsten Kasper plays a key role in helping to organise this annual event as one of five members of the Sacred Heart’s ‘Mission Possible’ team. Dine With The Champions is one of four fundraising events C&G work on with the Sacred Heart Mission on each year. This year the Dine With The Champions evening raised more than $50,000 towards the Mission’s sports and recreation programme – and Chisholm & Gamon were proud to be involved in the charity auction. Torsten Kasper and Sam Gamon got amongst it and encouraged the lively crowd to be generous in exchange for a range of memorabilia, fine wines and other treats during the rowdy auction.

Panellists who spoke on the night included Giaan Rooney, Angela Pippos, Ken Wallace, Rick Kelly, Luke Nolen, Peter Moody (Black Caviar’s trainer) and Ky Hurst. The buzzing audience enjoyed hearing amusing anecdotes from the careers of these experienced sporting stars – and even better, it was all in the name of raising funds for an important charity’s sporting facilities. We look forward to seeing the work that the Sacred Heart Mission will no doubt accomplish with these vital fundraising profits, and Chisholm & Gamon are already looking forward to their upcoming events.
We can’t believe that our Black Rock Chishom & Gamon office has just celebrated its one year anniversary! Today’s Chisholm & Gamon blog looks back at a successful debut year for the C&G Black Rock team, and shares a little of our celebratory magic with you.
On the 15th of October (exactly!) Chisholm & Gamon Black Rock celebrated its first anniversary with a private team party. It was a great opportunity to get everyone together to look back on our premiere year in a community which has welcomed the C&G team with open arms. We thank you for our warm reception, and look forward to many more years representing the Black Rock community. On the night there were tasty treats a-plenty, including this sweet little cake – emblazoned with our new ‘Hello’ logo which you may have seen in our exciting new rebrand.
