Do you like Elsternwick Park? Fancy community radio? Like kick to kick? Enjoy a touch of Nick Cave? Chisholm & Gamon have your Sunday sorted - hop along to the Reclink Community Cup on Sunday 26th of June 2011 at Elsternwick Park.
Reclink is a charity which has a focus on ‘rebuilding lives through sport and arts’. Two fearsome teams (Megahertz versus The Espy Rockdogs) take each other on in this unique community event – Megahertz representing radio presenters and staff from RRR & PBS whilst The Espy Rockdogs are full of well-loved Aussie musicians. You’ll be able to see the likes of Dan Sultan, Paul Kelly and Tim Rogers trying out their footy skills! This is the third year the event has run to great success – with 2010′s winners being Megahertz. At half time you’re invited onto the field for a legendary session of kick-to-kick, so don’t forget your own Sherrin! Being a footy day full of musos, you’d expect some great Aussie rock too. YouAmI, Tumbleweed and The Rebelles will be playing a set at the end of the match, with each band including one classic Nick Cave song in their as a tribute to the great man of Aussie music. Kick off’s at 2pm – see you there!
